About me
Lara is a psychology-trained yoga teacher who focuses on stress relief and nervous system support. She completed her yoga teacher training and holds a B.Sc. in Psychology. Currently she is taking a trauma informed yoga teacher training, to integrate trauma-informed wisdom into her teachings. She is based an hour north of Edmonton, Alberta, and offers all her classes online and in-person. She combines ancient traditions of yoga with her scientific knowledge of the human mind. She offers 1:1 courses and group classes which are designed to be gentle, accessible, and to support emotional regulation.
With her roots in Germany, she offers all her courses in either German or English and has a deep cultural knowledge obtained in many different countries which she has visited and lived in.
Her journey to a yogic-led life started 2016 with the emerging of her chronic pain. Using yoga as a way to treat physical discomfort, she soon began to realize the positive impact of yoga on her emotional, psychological and spiritual wellbeing. Yoga has been her strongest ally to handle the flareups of chronic pain and to enhance relaxation in her body. Yoga taught her about the mind-body connection and made her aware of the connection of her mental health and chronic pain. Through a long journey of self-healing on a mental and physical level she decided to pursue a degree in psychology to deepen her knowledge and to combine this with the healing path yoga has shown her to be. Her lived experience is woven into her offerings by integrating personal insight with her formal training in a gentle, body-based approach. Her work supports people in releasing chronic tension held in the body to cultivate a fulfilling life beyond stress and discomfort.
